Appomattox: Rachel Coleman Eubank Chandler, 81, of 3082 Liberty Chapel Rd, died Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at her residence. She was the wife of Horace Ted Chandler.
Born in Appomattox County, June 2, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Preston and Lillian Inge Coleman. She was a member of Liberty Chapel Baptist Church. Rachel was employed by Dillard Box Co., N & W Overall Factory and retired from Farmers National Bank. Along with her husband she owned and operated a cattle farm. After her retirement she was a volunteer at Lynchburg General Hospital, Virginia Baptist Hospital and the Voter Registration Office in Appomattox. Rachel was a friend and helper to all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her cousin, Billy Coleman and his wife, Sis of Appomattox; numerous other cousins; two stepsons and their wives, Tony and Tammy Chandler, Tim and Laura Chandler and five step-grandchildren, Blake Chandler, Jared Chandler, Keaton Chandler, Brent Franklin, and Joshua Franklin.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, December 30, 2006 in Liberty Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. James N. Williams. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home today from 7-8:30 pm.
