Primrose Ella Jay Crews, 91, of Beckham Road, Concord, died Sunday, November 2, 2014 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Warren Garland Crews for 69 years. Primrose was a loving wife, mother and friend.
Born in East Suffolk, Ipswich, England on May 3, 1923 she was a daughter of the late Emily Ong and William Jay. Primrose was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a homemaker and farmer. She especially loved her violets and flowers.
She is survived by two sons, Paul Crews and wife, Betty of Appomattox and Daniel "Tucker" Crews and wife, Linda of Concord; three daughters, Ann C. Gray and husband, Harry of Lynchburg, Shirley C. Witt and husband Larry of Concord and Mary Crews of Concord: four grandchildren, Vicki Crews, Jeffrey Crews, Tammy Crews Dill and Jessica Crews; four great-grandchildren, Brett and Lani Dill, Conor and Annabelle McCarver and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Patricia Crews, two granddaughters, Dawn Crews and Susan Crews McCarver, seven sisters and three brothers.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Robinson Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Childress and Rev. Larry Mann officiating. Burial will follow in Rebecca Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 10 a.m., at Robinson Funeral Home.
