Phyllis Marie Mayberry, 66, of Appomattox went to be with the Lord, Friday, September, 30, 2011 at her residence after a long illness. Phyllis was the loving wife of the late John
William, "Billy" Mayberry. She was a member of Bethel Bible Church.
Born in Campbell Co., May 8, 1945, she was one of ten children born to the late Gilda and Lacy Mayberry, Sr.
Phyllis was the loving mother of four children, Elizabeth "Liz" Nash (Mike), James Mayberry, Priscilla Walker, and Daphne Mayberry, one sister, Janie Gallier (Danny), all of Appomattox; six grandchildren, devoted grandson and caregiver for the last several years, Darien Mayberry, Jason Nash, Christy Nash, James William Mayberry, Jr., Damian Mayberry, and Bridget Mayberry; two great-grandchildren, Ryan Nash, and Kaydence Nash; numerous nieces, nephews, and close family friends.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Roger Mayberry, Lacy Mayberry, Jr., Charlie Mayberry, Eugene Mayberry, John Mayberry, and Earl Mayberry, and two sisters, Thelma Goin and Frances Shupe.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 3, 2011, at Robinson Funeral Home with Pastor Blonnie Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in the Mann Family Cemetery in Promise Land. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
