Phillip Carlton Harris, 56, of Salem Rd., Spout Spring, died Sunday, April 8, 2012 at his residence. He was the husband of Laurie Selz Harris.
Born in Lynchburg, VA, on February 3, 1956, he was a son of Frank Carlton Harris, Jr. and Edith Caldwell Harris of Appomattox. He was a graduate of Virginia Tech, an engineer/director for Wiley Wilson, and a member of Reedy Springs Baptist Church. His interests were varied and included everything from antique roses, bird dogs, hunting, fishing, civil war history, and making powder horns.
In addition to his wife and parents he is survived by a brother, Ronnie Harris and wife, Debbie of Appomattox.
Graveside funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at the Harris Family Cemetery by the Rev. John Muth. The family will receive friends at the residence.
