On December 7, 2010, Mrs. Peggy Darlene Voorhees went home to be with the Lord and Savior. She was 62 years of age and had been fighting MS for the past 19 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence B. and Lawrence E. Witt and a brother, Larry Witt.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Edwin Robert (Bob) Voorhees of Buckingham; a son, Michael Voorhees and wife, Bobbie; a daughter, Paula Lowe and her husband, John all of Buckingham; a brother, Timothy Witt and wife, Pam of Buckingham; two sisters, Betty Ann Sawyer and husband, Larry of Portsmouth and Patricia F. Perutelli and husband, Alfred II of Buckingham; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Darlene was a very devoted born again Christian and will be remember by all for her wonderful smile. She was a charter member of Glory Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 8, 2010, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Glory Baptist Church, 195 Park Lane, Appomattox.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at Glory Baptist Church by the Rev. Jeff Worley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
