Margaret Keith (Peggy) Franklin, 79, of Little Bear Lane, Spout Spring, was carried by the angels to the arms of her Lord on Sunday, August 23, 2009. Twice married, her first husband was the late William Edward Wills, and for the time being she leaves behind her loving, devoted husband and caregiver, Carey Judson "Jack" Franklin.
Born August 12, 1930 in Elon, Amherst Co., she was the daughter of the late Rebecca "Becky" Keith and Oscar William Rutledge. She was a homemaker and a member of Glory Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children; her youngest, Penny Marie Martin and her husband, Cary of Winter Park, Fla. , Rebecca Sue (Becky) Foster, Concord, and William Roger Wills and his wife, June, Appomattox; two granddaughters, Norma Jean "Jeannie" Ragland and Lauren Megan Martin; and two great-grandsons, Tyler and Trevor Childress. Along with many friends, and other family members.
She was preceded in death by two aunts, Ease K. Dooley and Marjorie K. Cash.
Her family wishes to thank Hospice of the Hills and their nurses and staff, Lynchburg General Hospital, Virginia Baptist Hospital, Lyncare, Avanti of Lynchburg and the many wonderful doctors who cared so well for her. The friends, neighbors and family who were also a blessing to her and us.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Jeff Worley with burial to follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 to 8:30 pm tonight (Monday) and other times at the residence.
