Obituary

Peggy Doss Ayers, of Oakville Road, completed her earthly journey on Sunday, November 10, 2019, and is now reunited with the love of her life, Emmett George Ayers.

Born December 26, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Daisy Nell Doss and Samuel Bernard Doss, Sr. Peggy was a member of Bible Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Robert Ayers and wife, Carol of Pamplin, Mary Highton and husband, Ronald of Forest, Hettie Adams of Appomattox, and Judy Burggraf of Forest; a step-daughter, Sandi Merry and husband, Bill of Quicksburg; one brother, James "Son" Doss and wife, Mary; four sisters, Helen Burnette, Lucy Gagneur, Shirley Ferguson and Pat Seay; seven grandchildren, Travis Ayers, Ryan Adams, Samuel Burggraf, Meghan Cornfield, Nigel Highton, Morgan Burggraf and Stephen Burggraf; six step-grandchildren, Chris Talbert, Joyce Eastman, Kathryn Ferris, Joel Ayers, Brett Ayers, and Brandy Meador; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a step-son, Macon Eugene "Mac" Ayers; one grandson, Mark Ayers; three brothers, Gordon, David "Dude", Samuel, Jr., and Charles; and one sister, Mary Jane.

A funeral service will be held 11a.m., Thursday, November 14, 2019, at Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Robert E. Lee and Rev. Jonathan Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Old Herman Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at her residence.

The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Hall who cared for Peggy; their kindness and care for her will always be remembered.
