Pauline Engel Vasko, 92, formerly of 3467 Fort Ave., died Friday, June 9, 2006 in Runk & Pratt Residential Facility.
Born in Grayling, Michigan, July 23, 1913 she was a daughter of the late Guston and Lydia Engel. Pauline was raised in Nottoway, VA. She was married to the late John Vasko for 62 years. She was a member of the Appomattox Seventh Day Adventist Church. Pauline worked side by side her husband for many years as literature evangelist reaching homes with the beautiful books. She never stopped living the life she was committed too, at 92, she was still giving out tracts hoping to reach one more soul for the Lord.
She is survived by her son, John J. Vasko and his wife, Rita of Glen Ellyn, Ill; two grandchildren, Joey Vasko and Kim Vasko of Richmond; a niece, Mary Beth Patrick and husband, Phillip and their three children and a sister-in-law, Helen Appnell and husband, Hank all of Avon Park, FL. Pauline also leaves to rejoice in her homecoming those who provided care giving, Vonda Miles, Elsie Tomlin, Roberta Franklin, Ron and Mazie Taylor and Ron and Phylis Hawkins and a loving caregiver and special friend, Laura Stacio.
Graveside funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 13, 2006 at Liberty Cemetery, Appomattox by Pastor Dale Long.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Tuesday from 7-8:30 pm.
