Paul F. Ford, Sr. 74, of Acorn Drive, Appomattox died at home on Wednesday April 20, 2011. His beloved wife, Carolyn Bailey Ford died in July, 2010.

Paul was born March 21, 1937, in Lynchburg, a son of the late Ralph Michael Ford, Sr. and Christine Stillwell Ford. Paul was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and retired as Produce Manager for Wilbun's Supermarket in Appomattox.

He is survived by his children, Lydia Ford, Paul Ford, Jr. and his wife, Teresa of Lynchburg, Gordon Ford and his wife, Cynthia of Appomattox, Joe Ford of New York, NY, and Pam F. Staton and her husband, Tim of Appomattox, 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; a sister, Catherine F. Williams of Lynchburg; his father-in-law, Richard Alvis Sr. and wife, Sandy of Lynchburg.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Michael Ford, Jr. and a sister, Joyce Winslow.

A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 pm Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Robinson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends and family following the service until 8:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Centra Health Hospice of the Hills-Lynchburg, 2097 Langhorne Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24501 in Paul's memory.
