Obituary

Omar Havilah Moore, Sr., 84 of Gladstone quietly passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022. He was the loving husband of Lola Jamerson Moore for 67 years.

Born in Buckingham County on October 11, 1937, he was the son of the late Ethel Wells Moore and Samuel Arthur Moore, Sr. Omar was a member of the Appomattox Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He was the owner of Omar H. Moore, Sr. Logging for over 40 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Lorraine Ranson (H.W.), Omar Moore, Jr. (Terri), Rebecca Ranson (Barney), Charles Moore, Sr. (Denise), and Gary Moore (Kim); one sister, Estelle Moore; 14 grandchildren, 29 great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Hazel J. Moore.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

The family would like to thank the staff at Fairmont Crossing Health and Rehabilitation Center for their loving care and for all the visitations from friends.

A funeral service will be held 11 am, Friday, September 23, 2022, at Robinson Funeral Home with Pastor Samuel Moore officiating. A private family graveside will be held in the Moore Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at Robinson Funeral Home.
