Odell Evans Wheeler, 97, of Cherry Drive, Fairfax, died Monday, January 22, 2018, in Tysons Woods Assisted Living. She was the wife of the late John Dixon Wheeler, Jr.
Born January 31, 1920, in Concord, Va., she was a daughter of the late Mittie Nash and Jesse Davis Evans. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and was a retired supervisor for the US Government.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Maiden and her husband, Robert of Tallahassee, Fla.; three grandchildren, Rachel Wells and her husband, Byron, Robert W. Maiden and John L. Maiden and his wife, Lauren; five great grandchildren, Emily, Grace, Morgan, Grant and Reagan; and a sister, Jeanette "Pete" Wisecarver.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, John D. Wheeler, III; two sisters, Ruby Evans Botticelli and Lynette "Pie" Evans Iachetta; and two brothers, Jesse Everette Evans and Berkley Davis Evans.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, January 28, 2017, at Bethany United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jennifer Vestal Moore with burial following in the church cemetery.
