Odell Virginia Mayberry Ferguson, 92, of Cedar Lane, Appomattox, died Sunday, August 17, 2008 in the Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Howard Marshall Ferguson.
Born in Campbell County, May 17, 1916, she was a daughter of the late James Glover and Ethel Mann Mayberry. Odell retired from the Amelia Dress Company and a member of Memorial United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three children, H. Gene Ferguson and wife, Deloris, L. Wayne Ferguson and wife, Hazel, and Nancy F. Litchford all of Appomattox; six grandchildren, H. E. (Skebo) Ferguson, Patty Clements and husband, Timmy, Lloyd W. Ferguson, Jr. and wife, Denise, Janet Ferguson, Dorothy Evans and husband, Russell all of Appomattox, and Cheryl Thayer and husband, Kevin of Lynchburg; 12 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and a brother-in-law, Willie Hill of Kingsport, TN.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys; two brothers, Willie and Curtis; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Carlton Duck and the Rev. Randy Fish. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7-8:30 pm and other times at the home of Wayne and Hazel Ferguson or Gene and Deloris Ferguson.
