Obie Fred Chandler, 83, of Chandlers Lane, Appomattox, died Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at his residence.

Born in Madison County, NC, October 18, 1934, he was a son of the late Essie Holliefield and Dewey Bryan Chandler.

He is survived by two sons, Neal Chandler and wife, Wanda of Appomattox and Ricky Chandler of Pamplin; four daughters, Rose Allen and husband Ricky, Karen Scruggs and husband, Doug both of Hixburg, Mitzi Chandler of Pamplin and Carolyn Chandler of Appomattox; one brother, Calvin Chandler and wife, Vonda; two sisters, Ruby Bass and husband, Quinton and Linda Hargrave and husband, Jerry; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Horace Ted Chandler.

A graveside service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Rocks Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Gene Beverly officiating.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m., Friday, March 30, 2018 at Robinson Funeral Home.
