Norman Bernard Gagneur, 80, of North Creek Rd., Appomattox, died Thursday, October 10, 2013 at his residence. He was the husband of Frances (Lucy) Lee Doss Gagneur.
Born in Wayne Michigan, on July 25, 1933, he was a son of the late Violet Pelchat and John Harry Gagneur. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and retired from C & P Telephone Company. Norman served his country in the US Air Force.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Norman B. Gagneur, II and wife, Tammy of Lynchburg; four daughters, Janice Henderson and husband, Kenneth of Appomattox, Romana Neumann of Boney Lake, WA, Wendy Martin and husband, Wesley of Appomattox, and Cara Taylor and husband, James of Lucama, NC; two brothers, J. Harry Gagneur, Jr. and wife, Sue of Summerset Center, MI and Richard Gagneur and wife, Rose of Macon MI; nine grandchildren, Dana Carter, Andrea and Stephanie Martin, Robert Martin and Shana Page, Keith and Chris Gagneur, and Justin and Cody Taylor; three step-grandchildren, Michael Henderson, Brittany and Michael Hess; six great grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Roland Gagneur, and his step-mother, Mary Gagneur.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm, Noon, on Monday, October 14, 2013 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church by Father Jim Gallagher. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites accorded by American Legion Post #104 and V.F.W. #9855 combined honor guard.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service and other times at the residence.
