Obituary

Norma Honeycutt Burkart, 90, of Concord, passed away on July 10, 2025, after a short illness. She was the wife of the late John D. Burkart.

Born on December 28, 1934, in Covington, KY she was the daughter of the late Elma Walker Honeycutt and William Edward Honeycutt.

She was a kind and loving person. Norma was an accomplished musician and loved all kinds of crafts. She was a member of New Bethel Church in Gladys, VA where she played the organ. She dearly loved her church, friends, and neighbors. She also loved her fur babies Rascal and BoBo.

Norma and John lived for many years in Gloucester, VA. John worked for Animal Control and Norma worked in security. After camping trips to Thousand Trails in Rustburg, VA, they decided to buy a home in Concord, VA.

She is survived by her brother, Raymond L. Honeycutt and wife, Sandy of Telford TN; her sister, Nina M. Buchanan of Gloucester, VA; nephews, Steve Honeycutt and Scott Buchanan; and niece, Marjorie Fair.

You are invited to join us in a Celebration of Norma's life at 1 pm, Saturday, August 16, 2025, at New Bethel Church, Gladys, VA, with Rev. Albert Read and Rev. Roger Powell officiating.
