Nettie Alice Torricelli Guill, 93, of Appomattox, died Tuesday, February 3, 2009 in Guggenheimer Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Harry Wilson Guill for 63 years.
Born in Buckingham County, August 2, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Tony and Mary Lillian McFadden Torricelli. Along with her husband she owned and operated Guill's Service Station.
She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Scruggs and husband, Warren of Concord; four sons, H. Ottoway Guill and wife, Barbara, Carlton Guill and wife, Eva, Freddie Guill, and Richard Guill and wife, Peggy all of Appomattox; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren; and five sisters-in-law, Alma Almond, Elizabeth Almond, Pearl Guill, Elmina Guill, and Mae Guill.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Howard, and Lawrence Almond and a sister, Eula Myers.
Graveside funeral services will be held 3:00 pm, Friday, February 6, 2009 in Liberty Cemetery by the Rev. Mark Grooms. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:30 pm, at Robinson Funeral Home before the service.
