Nettie Hunter Cunningham
Gladstone: Nettie Hunter Cunningham, 95, of Rt. 2, died Friday, September 2, 2005 at the Appomattox Health Care Center. She was twice widowed to the late Bernard L. Moore and the late Emmett Carter Cunningham.
Mrs. Cunningham was born in Appomattox County, October 4, 1909, a daughter of the late Myra Martin and Mosley William Hunter. She was a lifetime member of Mount Comfort United Methodist Church, a member of the United Methodist Women, and was a retired clerk for the R.C. and A.C. Martin grocery and Oakville Farm Supply.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Amy M. and Calvin H. (Butch) Martin of Gladstone; a grandson Steve Martin, and his wife Jessica of Richmond; a granddaughter Kristin and her husband R.H. (Buddy) McFadden of Gladstone; four great-grandchildren Megan and Courtney McFadden, and Kasey and Kennedy Martin.
Preceding her in death were two sisters, Rachel Moore and Virginia Ragland, and seven brothers, Garland Hunter, Allen Hunter, Marshall Hunter, Milton Hunter, Hampton Hunter, Sherman Hunter and Ryland Hunter.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 4, 2005 at Mount Comfort United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert J. Thorne and Rev. David Camden with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4-6 pm at Robinson Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Amy and Butch Martin.
