Nellie Corter Abatte

Nellie Corter Abatte, 90, of Charlotte Court House, passed away quietly Sunday, October 18, 2026, with her loving niece, Irene Phelps by her side.

Born on May 8, 1936, in Ringwood, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Harry Corter and Jeanette Salisbury Corter. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Hamlin; two granddaughters, Samantha Padham and Anna Bell; a great-grandson, Michael; niece, Irene Phelps and her husband, Josh; great niece, Lisa Davis; and great nephew, Greg Davis. She was the last daughter of 16 children and is survived by her youngest brother, Richard Corter.

A graveside service will be held 1:30pm, Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery with Father Jim Gallagher officiating.
