Nannie Mae Evans Smith Davidson, 89, of Cedar Cove Lane, Spout Spring, died Sunday morning June 22, 2014 in Retreat Doctors Hospital in Richmond. She was the widow of Jerry Anderson Smith and is survived by her husband, Clarence Davidson.
Nannie Mae was born in Appomattox County July 1, 1924 a daughter of the late Clarence McClellan Evans and Sally Ranson Evans. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and a retired employee of Amelia Dress Company.
In addition to her husband, Clarence, she is survived by two sons, Richard A. (Dickie) Smith and wife, Kim of Forest; Clarence E. (Peaches) Smith and wife, Betty Jo of Appomattox and a sister, Kathleen E. Wooldridge of Appomattox; three grandchildren, Kyle Smith of Florida, Michael Smith of Lynchburg, Todd Smith and wife, Lisa of Vinton; five great-grandchildren, Caleb, Gavin, Morgan, Carter and Jackson.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Anderson Smith, Jr. and a sister, Frances E. Chamberlin.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday June 25, 2014 in Liberty Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Rusty Small. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Tuesday night June 24, 2014 from 7-8:30 PM and at other times at the residence.
