Nancy Lee Evans Harris, 84, of Appomattox, VA, passed away Friday, September 4, 2026, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Edward Keith Harris.
Born in Evergreen, VA, on July 22, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Ada Rachel Paulette and Dexter Randolph Evans. Nancy was a member of Evergreen United Methodist Church. She worked as a customer service representative for 38 years at the Bank of Appomattox, Central Fidelity, Wachovia, and Wells Fargo. Nancy loved and had a special bond with each of her grandchildren. She was accomplished with knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed canning and cooking and was especially known for her cakes. Nancy also enjoyed watching Duke basketball, reading books, and playing games.
She is survived by two daughters, Patty Harris Bryant of Evergreen, and Christy Lynn Harris of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Brandon Keith Bryant, Alexa Bryant Hodges and husband, Brandon, Devon Monae Burrell, and Alex Thomas Hamlet III; one great-granddaughter, Peightyn Nakayla; one sister, Elizabeth Kay Evans Hale; one niece, Dana Michele Garraghty and husband, Mike; one nephew, Glenn Thomas Cox, Jr.; and extended family consisting of sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Robert Edward Keeler Jr.
A funeral will be held at 3 pm, on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Evergreen United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Eric Hernandez. Burial will follow in Evergreen United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Robinson Funeral Home.
