Concord: Myrtle Harrell Strain, 85, died Saturday August 20, 2005 in Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born, September 3, 1919, in Robeson Co., N.C., She was a daughter of the late Grady S. Harrell and Cornelia McNeill Harrell. Myrtle was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by her five children; William V. Strain, Jr. and his wife Frances of Concord, VA, Cornelia S. Namm and her husband Donald of Cary, NC, Grady M. Strain and his wife Patricia of Charlotte, NC, David F. Strain and his wife Dorothy of Bedford, VA, and Elizabeth S. Richi and her husband Paul of Fort Mill, SC; Also, surviving is her sister Janie H. Harrell of Charlotte, NC and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband William V. Strain; five sisters, Sara Harrell Johnson, Olive Harrell Boyd, Mary Harrell Ballard, Catherine Harrell McMillan, and Cornelia Frances Harrell; and a brother Luther B. Harrell.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday August 23, 2005 at Robinson Funeral Home with Bishop Edward Malone officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight (Monday) from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and other times at the home of her son, William V. Strain, Jr.
