Moses Wendell "Dick" Smith, 92, of Spout Spring passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Shirley Reynolds Smith for 54 years.

Born on December 12, 1931, in Hollywood, VA, he was the son of the late John Andrew Smith and Sally Mabel Guill Smith. He was a member of Reedy Spring Baptist Church and American Legion Post #104. Dick served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was a retired truck driver for Smith's Transfer.

He is survived by three children, Teresa S. Moss and husband, Jerry of Monroe, Nathan Smith and wife, Cynthia, and Vanessa S. Phillips all of Appomattox; four grandchildren, Tom Smith, Daniel Phillips and wife, Ashley, Phillip Smith, and Sarah Phillips and fiancé, Cedrick Furline; two great-grandchildren, Kayleigh "Katie" Croner and Walker Smith; many nieces and nephews; a special great niece, Kim; and a special friend, Bertha Jones.

A funeral service will be held 11 am, Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Reedy Spring Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 pm, Wednesday, March 13 at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at his residence.
