Mildred Ferrell (Millie) Roach, 72, of Horseshoe Rd., Appomattox, died Thursday, May 30, 2013 in Centra Specialty Hospital. She was the wife of Bobby A. Roach for 53 years and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family first.
Born in Bath County, Virginia, on October 19, 1940, she was the devoted daughter of the late Sylvia Wolfe and John Ernest Ferrell, Sr. She was a graduate of Phillips Business School and retired after 33 years from the Lynchburg Health Department.
In addition to her husband she is survived by three children, Todd Roach and his wife, Sheila of Concord, Sharon Mobley and her husband, Bobby, and Sheila Layne and husband, Kevin all of Appomattox; nine grandchildren, Brittney L. Reeves and Chad, Paul A. Roach and Amber, Nick Mobley and fiancée, April Moore, Daniel Riley and Nikki, Ross Layne and Connie Jo, Brooke Mobley and fiancé, Trevor Baldwin, Matthew Roach, Shawn Riley, and Dakota Roach; four great grandchildren, Rianne, Kaizley, Remington, and Peyton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, John D. Ferrell, Jr. and Robert L. Ferrell.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 3, 2013, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Paul Kvasnicka. Burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, from 4:00- 6:00 p.m. and other times at the residence.
The family would like to express their appreciation to all the medical staff, extended family and friends that cared for Millie over the years.
