Spout Spring: Mildred Louise Staton Tyree, 80, of Rt. 1, died Monday, November 14, 2005 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Walter Roy Tyree.
Born in Amherst Co., June 11, 1925, she was a daughter of the late James Anderson and Mary Sue Drumheller Staton. Mrs. Tyree was a beloved mother, homemaker and was a retired seamstress from Lynchburg Manufacturing Co. She was a member of the Appomattox Baptist Temple.
She is survived by her son, David A. Tyree and his wife, Donna of Spout Spring; three grandchildren, Michelle Renee Ring, Louisburg, NC, Lisa Quick, Chattanooga, TN and Franklin Crowder of Sutherland; her great grandson, Zachary Ring.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Tyree Josephs; four brothers, Leonard Staton, Henry Staton, Lewis Staton and James Staton; five sisters, Ruby S. Franklin, Thelma S. Staton, Margaret S. Nuckles, Beulah S. Presgraves and Nancy S. Mason.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, November 17, 2005, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. John Napier and Rev. Ellis Caudill, with burial following in the Tyree Family Cemetery on Stratford Rd., Concord.
The family will be receiving friends Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the funeral home.
