Mildred "Millie" Fields Thompson, 70, of Double Bridges Road, died Monday, June 6, 2016 at her residence. She was the loving wife of 50 years to Eugene "Buck" Thompson, Sr.
Born in Lynchburg, July 5, 1945 she was a daughter of the late Emma Viola Mann and Haven B. Fields. Millie worked numerous years as a CNA at many establishments. She especially enjoyed her time at Babcock Manor. Mrs. Thompson had a heart for people and relished her time caring for the sick and elderly.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Larry H. Johnson, Jr., and wife, Maria of Appomattox, Eugene "Gene" L. Thompson, Jr of Red House, Emily Anne Thompson and Mark A. Thompson and wife B.J., both of Appomattox; one brother, Haven M. Fields, Sr. and wife, Carolyn of Appomattox; one sister, Hazel Wilson of Appomattox; fourteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Spout Spring Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Kvasnicka and Rev. Nelson Fields officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
