Mildred Mayberry Sherlin, 86, of Appomattox, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 25, 2022, at Edley Place Home Care. She was the loving wife of Charles Homer Sherlin for 66 years.

Born in Appomattox County, Va., on October 1, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Mary Odell Reed Mayberry and Floyd Twyman Mayberry. She was a member of Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church and retired from Craddock and Terry.

She is survived by three children, Tommy L. Sherlin and wife, Gail of Campbell County, Ronny L. Sherlin of Evington, and Donny L. Sherlin and wife, Faye of Spout Spring; a sister, Betty Dotson and husband, Alfred; seven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by siblings, Twyman, J.D., Mary Lee, Allen "Pokey", and Gloria Jean Mayberry.

The family would like to thank her caregivers at Edley Place and her four granddaughters, Marcie Mantiply, Melissa Campbell, Crissy Roakes, and Kelsey Means for their loving care and attention.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Robinson Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Alfred Dotson. Burial will follow in Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until time of the service.
