On January 22, we lost the backbone of our family our Momma at the age of 93.

She was born to the late Arthur and Elizabeth Cyrus.  She was one of fourteen children, seven boys and seven girls.

Momma was preceded in death by our daddy, Charlie Mayberry; her brothers, Alex, Herbert, Harry, Paul, Hunter and Milton Cyrus (her twin); her sisters, Bertha Grishaw, Avris Mayberry, Carrie Grishaw, Lucille Mullins, Bessie Mayberry and Dorothy Sweeney; a son-in-law, Larry Hancock.

She is survived by her brother Clayton Cyrus and wife, Rosa of Appomattox; her children, Jody Mayberry and wife, Jennie, Charlie Mayberry, Jr., and wife, Margie, Pamela Maschal and husband, Jan and Brenda Hancock and friend, Raymond Jordan; four grandsons, Kent Hancock, Tyler Maschal, Jeff Mayberry and wife, Sally, Kyle Maschal and wife, Adrielle; one granddaughter, Jordan Mayberry whom she called Pete; two great-granddaughters, Madison Hancock and Katelynn Mayberry; one great-grandson, Dylan Hancock; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Our Momma was a humble, funny, kind, spunky and loving woman.  She loved her family with all her heart and always put us first.  She loved God and we know she is at peace now.  We will miss her deeply.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Reedy Spring Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Worley officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home of Jody and Jennie Mayberry.

Our family would like to thank her caregiver Teresa Hastings for all the care and love she gave our Momma.  She loved her like a daughter.  We would also like to thank all of her friends, relatives and neighbors for all of the visits, prayers and kindness shown to her over the years, she loved you all.
