Mildred Margiree Dixon Kress, 76, of Jones Street, Appomattox, died Saturday morning April 25, 2015 at Appomattox Health & Rehab Center. She was the wife of the late John Christian Kress.

Mildred was born in Nelson Co. September 1, 1938 a daughter of the late Bertha Carroll and William Joseph Dixon. She was a member of Heart of Worship Ministries and a retired employee of Craddock-Terry Shoe Corporation.

Mildred is survived by four sons, Wayne Kress and wife, Virginia; David Kress and wife, Claudia; Danny Kress; and Kenneth Kress and wife, Marie all of Appomattox; five grandchildren, David and Jamie Kress, Jessica and Charlie Phelps, Kenneth Kress, Amanda and Todd Murley, C.J. and Rebekah Kress, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mildred was preceded in death by three brothers and seven sisters.

A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 am Monday April 27, 2015 in Liberty Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Tony Bell.

The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 7-8:30 PM Sunday night April 26.
