Mildred "Millie" Childress Christian, 77, of Hummingbird Lane, Spout Spring, went home to the Lord, Wednesday, August 15, 2018 while at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the loving wife of Loyd Milton Christian.

Born in Naruna, May 21, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Emma "Roxie" Childress and Hubert Arthur Childress. Mildred retired from Archer Creek Foundry.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Dianne Ryan of Spout Spring, Donna Powell and husband, Craig of Sutherland and Judy Richardson and husband, Sam of Madison Heights; one sister, Shirley Irby and husband, Boots of Nathalie; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her best friend/ adopted sister, Janet Hall.

She was preceded in death by a son, Loyd Wayne Christian; two brothers and two sisters.

A memorial service will be held 4 p.m., Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Pate Chapel , Thomas Road Baptist Church, with Rev. Daryl Donald, Sr. officiating.

The family will receive friends at her residence.
