Michael Jerome Cawthorne, 63, of Forest, died at his residence on November 5, 2021.

Born in Lynchburg, Va., on March 10, 1958, he was the son of the late Franklin D. "Rabbit" Cawthorne and Barbara Wills Cawthorne. He was a US Army Veteran and worked in a shipyard.

He is survived by his sisters, Michele C. Bernard and husband, Kenneth of Lynchburg and Shannon B. Thompson and husband, Pete of Christiansburg; brother, Tony Shaffer Burton of Pulaski; nieces and nephews, William M. Cawthorne and wife, Juliette, Whitney M. Gibson and husband, Brandon, Scott H. Bernard and wife, Ashley, Kenneth Bernard Jr., Mark Bernard and wife, Stephanie, Jason Bernard and wife, Marsha; numerous great nieces and nephews; and his canine friend, Spooky.

He was preceded in death by his brother, E. David Cawthorne.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 8, 2021, at Robinson Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Estes officiating. A private burial will follow in the Wooldridge Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
