Melva Gordon Williamson, 82, of Lynchburg, died Thursday, August 6, 2015, in Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born in Appomattox County, Va., on February 1, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Ruth Marsh and William Lee Williamson. She was a member of Keystone Baptist Church and attended Thomas Road Baptist Church. Melva was a graduate of Phillips Business College, retired from Paktron, was a former member of the Lynchburg Christian Singles group, and an active member of the Senior Saints of Thomas Road Baptist Church and the Rebekah's.
She is survived by a brother, Elbert "Teany" Williamson; two sisters, Audrey W. Phelps and Nell W. Cabiness and husband, Berkley; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Williamson all of Appomattox; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. Mervyn Williamson and William H. (Bill) Williamson; two sisters-in-law, Rhoda Williamson and Ruby Williamson; and a brother-in-law, Everette Phelps.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Roy Newman. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
