Mazie H. Carson, 79, of Village Highway, Concord, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Liberty Ridge, Lynchburg. She was the wife of Richard W. Carson for 59 years.
Born in Appomattox, August 28, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Hazel Elva Levisay and Thomas Coleman Harvey, Sr. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Concord. Mazie and her husband Richard owned Fire and Safety Equipment Co. for 35 years until they retired. She loved family, cooking and gardening.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two daughters, Sylvia G. Carson of Richmond, Janet Kay Carson Schnablegger and husband, David of Concord; one granddaughter, Tabitha Jane Severson; a step-grandson, Jason Schnablegger; a sister-in-law, Rae Grundman Harvey; a brother-in-law, Ralph Wayne Robinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Harriette H. Robinson; three brothers, Thomas Coleman Harvey, Jr., Gerald McLean Harvey and Charles Andrew Harvey.
A Funeral Service will be held 3p.m., Monday, July 11, at Robinson Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Thorne and Rev. Dan Dibble officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
