Maureen Ann Crane passed away October 21st, 2023, at Lynchburg General Hospital, surrounded with love by family. She was born August 7th, 1953, in Red Bank NJ to Thomas and Christina Fitzgerald. Maureen spent her younger years growing up on Long Beach Island NJ and eventually graduated Georgian Court College.

On May 25th, 1974, she married the love of her life Harry H. Crane. Of their wonderful 52 years together, they spent 35 years living in Appomattox, VA, which they loved and called home.

She obtained her master's degree in education and counseling from JMU and Longwood University and spent over 20 years teaching and counseling at Appomattox County High School. Her passion focused on Culinary Arts and Career/Technical Education Counseling. After retirement, Maureen volunteered several days a week at Lynchburg General Hospital in the Cardiac Unit.

She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and family. She was always ready for any adventure or relaxing on the beach listening to the waves.

Maureen is survived by her loving husband, Harry Crane, children: Daniel (Pam) and Shannon (Lacey), and her grandsons; Harbour, Nathan, and Ethan.

To honor Maureen's wishes there will be no funeral service. The family will have a private Celebration of Life in her honor.
