Matthew Scott Bryant

Matthew Scott Bryant, 40, of Appomattox, VA, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, at his residence. He was the loving husband of Michelle D. Bryant, his high school sweetheart of 19 years.

Born on January 31, 1985, in Charlottesville, VA, he was the son of Bernard E. Bryant and the late Constance “Connie” Marrs Bryant.

Matthew is survived by his wife, Michelle Bryant; children, Nicholas Bryant and Kynslee Bryant both of Appomattox; father, Bernard Bryant of Buckingham; brothers, Timothy Bryant (Stacy) of Buckingham and Steven Bryant (Dana) of Gladstone; father-in-law, Timmy Doss, mother-in-law, Teressa Stephens (RC); sister-in-law, Jessica Pack (Rick); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Some of the many things Matt enjoyed in life were working on his pickups and doing mechanic work. Two of his favorite prize possessions were his 1979 and 1985 Chevy Silverado's. You would also hear loud music when he was around. Matt had a mindset that whatever was broken could always be fixed. However, of all things, his best and most favorites were his children.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Richard Keith McCormick will be held at 2 pm Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Robinson Funeral Home in Appomattox. Burial will follow at the Bryant Family Cemetery in Buckingham/Wingina, VA.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service until the start of the service at the Funeral Home.
