Mary Ruth Woods, 77, of Salem Road, died, Tuesday, July 19, 2016. She was the wife of the late Calvin Channey Woods, Jr.
Born in Pamplin, October 5, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Mazie Goin and Emmitt Edward Tolbert, Sr. Ruth was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and retired from Archer Creek Foundry.
She is survived by two grandchildren; Calvin James Goin of Phoenix, AZ and Brook Nicole Goin of Raleigh, NC; Angela "Sissy" Page Willis of Bedford, who was like a granddaughter; two brothers, Ray Tolbert and Emmitt E. Tolbert, Jr.; five sisters, Alice Baldwin, Annabelle Weaver, Barbara Ann Tolbert, Georgia Stern and Loretta Robertson.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Goin; six brothers, James C. Tolbert, Bobby L. Tolbert, Thomas W. Tolbert, Bill Tolbert, Jack Tolbert, and Dan Tolbert; two sisters, Gracie Barksdale and Betty Smith.
A graveside service will be held 10a.m., Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Liberty Cemetery with Rev. Carlton Duck officiating.
