MARY ANNE WHEELER
Mary Anne Wheeler passed away March 2, 2012.
Born in Appomattox January 28, 1926 to Robert S. and Ruth Moore Wheeler. She was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Frances M. Wheeler and a brother Robert S. Wheeler, Jr. She is survived by an Aunt Rebecca W.Moore and numerous cousins from both the Moore and Wheeler families.
Upon graduating from Phillips Business College in 1945 she went to work for the Bank of Appomattox on January 2, 1946 and worked in the banking industry for 38 years retiring from Central Fidelity Bank having achieved the position of Head Teller. Mary Anne joined Bethany United Methodist Church at the age of 7 and transferred her membership to Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church of Gladstone in 1944 where she held various offices and was a Life Member of UMW.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday March 8, 2012 in Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery, Rustburg, by the Rev. Larry Mann. A visitation with the family will be on Thursday March 8, 2012 in the church beginning at 1:00 pm.
The family wishes to acknowledge the care and concern given to Mary Anne by Rebecca B. Rosser.
