Obituary

Mary Alice Paulette Staples, 87, of Evergreen, died Thursday night March 24, 2011 at Appomattox Health & Rehab Center. She was the widow of Ryland Wilson Staples.
Mary Alice was born in Lynchburg the daughter of the late Ethel Calhoun and Oscar Cleveland Paulette. She was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church and a retired Nursing Assistant.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Kay McLaughlin and her husband, Grahame of Pamplin; O. Wilson Staples and his wife Mary of Evergreen; three grandchildren, Mary Helen Powell of Windsor; Sara Ruth Williford and her husband John Ryan of Franklin; Anthony Staples of Evergreen; two great-grandchildren, Lauren Grace Powell and Elizabeth Kay Powell, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kermit C. and Joseph E. Paulette.
Funeral services will be conducted at Evergreen Baptist Church on Sunday March 27, 2011 at 3:00 P.M.by Dr. Chris King. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Evergreen Baptist Church on Saturday night March 26 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
