Mary Louise Meadows Clifton McCormick, 90, of Appomattox, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on November 2, 1925 in Pamplin, VA, she was a daughter of the late William Bennett Meadows and Annie Young Meadows. Mary was a member of Piney Ridge United Methodist Church and was a seamstress with Courtland Manufacturing where she retired after 26 years.
She is survived by two sons, Vester Robert Clifton and wife, Kitty and Tony Morgan Clifton and wife, Joyce; one sister, Elsie M. Ranson all of Appomattox; seven grandchildren, Sharon Miller and husband, David, Michael Henry all of Richmond, Chris Henry of Charlottesville, Connie Phillips and husband, Kent, Katherine Cooper and husband, Josh all of Lynchburg, Adam Clifton and wife, Reda, of Appomattox, and Rhonda Lawson of Burkeville; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Vester Marvin Clifton and William James McCormick, a daughter, Phyllis Clifton McGall, one brother Robert Meadows, and two sisters, Hettie Davis and Helen Peterson.
A Graveside Service will be held 11a.m, Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Piney Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Worley officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service and other times at the residence of Tony and Joyce Clifton, First Street, Appomattox.
