Mary "Cat" Mann Tyree, 68, of Forest, passed away on December 12, 2014 in Richmond, Va.
Mary was born in Appomattox on October 27, 1946, to Bernice Gray and Julian Abner Mann. She graduated from Appomattox High School and worked as a secretary for 45 years retiring from Sentry Equipment Erectors. She was an avid reader and loved her dog, Wicket and cat, Gracie.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Tyree of Leesburg; her daughter, Jennifer Castellano and husband, Andrew; three grandchildren, Morgan, Allison, and Nicholas Castellano all of Glen Allen; her brothers, Bradley Mann and wife, Gail of Appomattox and Bill Mann and wife, Tootsie of Evington; a sister, Betty Hale and husband, William of Lynchburg; a special niece, Amy Mann Stewart of Appomattox and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Mann.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Dwight Weaver, Jr. with burial following in Liberty Cemetery, Appomattox.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, December 15, 2014 from 6 to 8:00 p.m.
