Obituary

Mary Frances Coleman Bryant, 77, of Red House Rd., Appomattox went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 8, 2015, at her residence. She was preceded in death her husband, Robert Allen Bryant and her children, Robert A. (Butch) Bryant, Jr., David Wayne Bryant, and Brenda B. Doss.

Born in Lynchburg, Va., on February 5, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Ruby Brightwell and Russell V. Coleman, Sr. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, the Senior Adult Sunday School Class, and the Laura Lee Stewart Circle. For 23 years, Mary Frances enjoyed driving a school bus for Appomattox County and was also the owner and operator of Evergreen Flower Shop. She was a member of the Appomattox Woman's Club and the Chamber of Commerce, and chairman of Liberty Cemetery committee.

She is survived by two grandsons, Robert Adam Bryant Boggs and William Allen Bryant Boggs both of Durham; a daughter-in-law, Pamela Boggs; a son-in-law, Mike Doss; a beloved "adopted daughter" and caregiver, Shirley Walker of Appomattox; four brothers, Russell V. Coleman, Jr. and wife, Alice of Madison Heights, William A. Coleman and wife, Virginia of Gloucester Point, Leonard A. Coleman and wife, Emily of New Haven, Ky., and Robert E. Coleman and wife, Patti of Hayes; three sisters, Mildred Hammock of Hayes, Cathleen Stewart of Virginia Beach, and Betty Hudgins and husband, Mike of Chesapeake; a sister-in-law, Kellie D. Bryant; dear friends, Edith Scruggs, June Chenault, and Peggy Marshall and many others; four adopted grandchildren, Teri Boggs Thompson and husband, Al, John Boggs and wife, Rachael, and Sally Lair; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, John O. Coleman

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, May 10, 2015, in Liberty Baptist Church by Dr. Rusty Small. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home on Saturday, from 4 until 6 p.m.
