On Monday September 15, 2014, Martha Roberta Garrett Moore, 52, of Piney Mountain Road, fought the good fight. She has finished her course, she has kept the faith. She is satisfied in the presence of her Savior Jesus. She was the loving wife of 33 years to Fleming Pinnell Moore.
Born in Lynchburg, August 1, 1962 she was a daughter of the late Herbert Garrett and Evelyn Coleman Howell and husband, John. Martha was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church where she served in Women's Bible Study Ministry and also Women Praying through Cancer. She was a Vice President of Scott Insurance, where she worked for 33 years.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two daughters, Jordan Moore Sparnroft and husband, Dave, and Taylor Moore Shupe and husband, Sky all of Appomattox; two sisters, Bernadine Garrett of Appomattox, and Christie G. Russell and husband Ryan of Clarksville; four nieces and nephews, Caedmon, Athan, Justin and Holland Russell; father and mother-in-law, Nevelle and Mary Frances Moore of Appomattox; brother-in-law, Kevin Moore and wife, Michelle and their son, Chad all of Appomattox; step siblings, David, Duane, Damon and Kristi Howell.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas A. Garrett and Mary Robertson, O. Herman Coleman and Jennie Droog.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Thomas Road Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Jonathan Falwell, Rev. Ron Nickols, and Rev. John Muth. Interment service will be held 4:30 p.m. in Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery, 5522 Oakville Road, Appomattox.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 until time of service at Thomas Road Baptist Church, and other times at the residence.
