Martha Jennings Moore, 84, of James River Rd., Gladstone, died Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Marvin Watts Moore Jr.
Born in Lynchburg, Va., on May 11, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Claude Emory Jennings and the late Gertrude Wooten Jennings Olesh. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a retired seamstress for Courtland Manufacturing.
She is survived by a daughter, Ida M. Burks and husband, Sam Jr. of Gladstone; four sons, Roger L. Moore of Appomattox, T. Randy Moore and wife, Cynthia D., Tony L. Moore and wife, Angie all of Gladstone, and Brian S. Moore and wife, Rachel of Appomattox; 11 grandchildren, Richard Moore, Jay Moore, Teddy Watts Burks, Jessica Burks Jamerson, Tony Moore Jr., Tonya Moore, and Daniel, Austin, Ethan, Kayleigh and Amanda Moore; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Claudine Horn and husband, Johnnie; three sisters-in-law, Colenna Moore, Doris Moore, and Christine Moore; a brother-in-law, William Layne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Layne and Betty Shupe.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2014, in Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Rebecca Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home on Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the home of her daughter, Ida Burks.
