Obituary
Marjorie Harrell Tweedy, 96, of New Chapel Rd., Rustburg, died Thursday, January 23, 2014 in Westminster Canterbury. She was the wife of the late Reginald Edward Tweedy, Sr.
Born in Suffolk, VA, on July 2, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Zuzzie Pierce Harrell and William Burgess Harrell. She was preceded in death by her step-mother, Lillian Carr Harrell. Marjorie was a member of New Chapel Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Marjorie is survived by two sons, Reginald Edward Tweedy, Jr. and wife, Patricia of Greensboro, NC and Harrell Emmett Tweedy and wife, Marian of Acworth, GA; and five grandsons, Phillip, Jonathan, Eamonn and wife Sung, Robert and Michael Tweedy.
The family would like to express their gratitude to her special caregiver, Elizabeth Hamlett and all the staff at Westminster Canterbury for their loving care of Marjorie.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 26, 2014, at New Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. Tim Dooley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
