Appomattox: Marion Grey DeJarnette Nash, 79, of 504 Airport Drive, died Wednesday, August 10, 2005 in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of David Sylvester Nash.
Born in Naruna, Campbell County, January 30, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Evan Edward DeJarnette and Dora Sowell DeJarnette. Mrs. Nash worked with her husband from 1975 until her retirement at D. S. Nash Construction as the office manager. Prior to her employment she was involved in many civic organizations including the Appomattox Garden Club. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne N. and James G. "Jim" Amos; a son and daughter-in-law, Gray S. and Donna Nash; five grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Amos, Kaitlyn Nicole Amos, Jonathan Sylvester Nash, Monica Gray Nash and Melody Rose Nash all of Appomattox; two sisters, Ernestine "Teenie" Hanna of Lynchburg and Inez Wood and her husband, William of Rock Hill, SC; a brother-in-law, Bennie F. Elder of Farmville and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William E. DeJarnette and Lilbon A. DeJarnette and three sisters, Louise Huges, Elizabeth Elder, and Irma DeJarnette.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 15, 2005, at Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bruce Johnson and the Rev. Henry Riley. Burial will follow in Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery in Naruna.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Sunday from 3-4:30 p.m. and other times at the residence.
