Marion Messe Gillam, 100, of Appomattox passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Francis Carlton Gillam.

Born in Manchester Station, Vermont on July 15, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Frank Messe and Margaret O'Hara Messe. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.

She is survived by her three children, Elizabeth Gillam of Appomattox, Paul Gillam and wife, Diane of New Kent, and Brian Gillam of Appomattox; two grandchildren, Kirk Gillam of Santa Monica, CA and Natalie McLaughlin and husband, Mark of Alexandria.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael F. Gillam.

A graveside service will be held 2 pm, Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Old Herman Methodist Cemetery with Father Jim Gallagher officiating.
