Obituary

Marian Jefferson Carter, 96, of Appomattox, passed away on October 19, 2018. She was married to the late Charlie Cabell Carter for 52 years.

Born March 4, 1922 in Charlotte County, she was a daughter of the late Faber Blain and Ola Bennett Jefferson of Red House. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church for 70 years and retired from the Appomattox County School Division.

Mrs. Carter is survived by a son, L. Blaine Carter of Richmond and a daughter and her husband, Joyce and G.H. Jamerson; one grandson, Faber Bennett Jamerson and his wife, Phillips and four great grandchildren, Berkley, Jake, Carter and David all of Appomattox. In addition she is survived by a brother, Brantley M. Jefferson of Farmville and a sister-in-law, Lorena E. Jefferson of Greensboro, N.C. and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Edna J. Smith and Hilda J. Paulette, and her brothers, Carey J. Jefferson, Melvin W. Jefferson and Faber B. Jefferson, Jr.

The family expresses gratitude to the staff and ladies of The Williams Home for the outstanding care, compassion and friendships provided to her during the past five years.

A graveside service will be held 1:30p.m., Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Liberty Cemetery with Pastor Paul Kvasnicka officiating.
