Obituary

Life is a gift given to us from God and He had a greater gift for Margie Doss Reider, 74, when he called her home on Wednesday, January 14, 2009.
Her life was filled with many blessings from God, like her salvation, health, friends, and family. Margie lived her life preparing for her eternal home through her love for God and her fellowman. She was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church where she served as Director of Sunday School, choir member, Sunday School teacher, youth director. She also served on various church committees and the softball team. Margie used her creative abilities to write plays and programs that where performed by the children of the church.
She was active in the community where she served as chairman of the Library Committee, was President of the W.O.W., and served as team captain for the New Hope Lighters Relay for Life Team. For a number of years she operated the W.O.W. concession stand for minor and major league baseball. She retired from G. E. after 30 years service and enjoyed working outside.
Born in Appomattox County, September 26, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Tom Ed and Edna Seay Woodson. She was married to the late Henry Allen (Dee) Doss and is survived by her husband, Ralph H. Reider, Jr. of Appomattox.
In addition to her husband, Ralph she is survived by three wonderful sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Wanda Doss, Glenn and Sue Doss, and Timothy and Teressa Doss all of Appomattox. With her second marriage God added a daughter and son-in-law to her life, Susan and Cliff Smith and a son, Ralph H. Reider, III. God continued to bless her with grandchildren, Dana Beckhouse and husband, Chris, Brandon Doss and wife, Kim, Jessica Cates, Michelle Bryant and husband, Matt, Kayla Smith and Deanna Smith and her tip-top blessing her great grandchildren, Jackson Cates, Ava Beckhouse, Nicholas Bryant and Elijah Doss.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today (Friday) from 7-8:30 pm and other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made the New Hope Lighters Relay for Life Team, 6227 Old Courthouse Rd., Appomattox, VA 24522.
Margie's final words to you are "Life here was magnificent and filled with blessings, but I now have moved to a richer, fuller and brighter life. I spent my earthly life sacrificing and giving to others and it is now worth it all. Live your life to the fullest through serving God and mankind and above all just meet me there. I love you all."
