Margie Marie Mayberry Goggin, 66, of Promise Land Rd., died Friday, April 24, 2009 in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of Alvin Kenneth Goggin, Jr.
Born in Appomattox County, April 1, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Lovie Mayberry. Mrs. Goggin was a member of Central Baptist Church and retired after 28 years of service from Thomasville Furniture.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Regina G. (Gina) Thomas of Appomattox, and Susan G. Kitchen and husband, P.W. of Dillwyn; two brothers, Ray Mayberry, and his wife Kim, Ronnie Mayberry and wife Pam, all of Richmond; five grandchildren, Zachary Blanks, Cody Blanks, Jacob Thomas, Alison Kitchen, Burkley Kitchen.
She was preceded in death by a brother Lloyd Mayberry.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2009 at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. George Kreidel Officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
