Obituary

Appomattox: Margaret Wheeler Lee, 95, of Lee Street, died Saturday night, June 28, 2008, at Lynchburg Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Samuel Tilden Lee.
Born in Campbell, Co., February 7, 1913, she was a daughter of the late George Washington and Evie Farley Wheeler. Mrs. Lee was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Good Years, an active member of the U.D.C. where she served as correspondence secretary for 20 years, and was a charter member of the Wreck Island Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Lee began exhibiting handmade antique doll clothing, homegrown vegetables, and canned goods in state fairs and the Five County Fair, beginning in 1962 and continuing until the mid 1990's. During her years of sharing her talents, she won over 1400 ribbons and trophies, and was honored for receiving the most ribbons of any exhibitor in the Five County Fair.
Mrs. Lee is survived by a son, Wayne Lee and his wife Rachel, of Appomattox; two daughters, Winnie Agee, and her husband Earl, of Bedford, and Barbara Elliott, and her husband Carlton, of Rustburg; nine grandchildren, Ed and Leslie Agee, Phillip and Shannon Agee, Jeff and Heather Agee, Wenda and Gary Tomlin, Dana and Craig Ranson, Leslie and Jeff Pierce, Kevin Elloitt, Kathy Jo and Mark Pierce, and Mark Elliott, and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother Carroll Wheeler
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 1, 2008, in Hebron Baptist Church, 7533 Stonewall Rd., with the Rev. Dennis Moore, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Hebron Baptist Church from 1:00 to 1:45, prior to the service.
