Mamie Goin Reed Meadows, 95, of Crewe passed away peacefully in her sleep with her family by her side on Friday, October 14, 2022. She was the wife of the late Henry Willard Reed and late Charlie Meadows.

Born in Appomattox on October 4, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Wesley Goin and Edna Mayberry Goin. She was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy of Burkeville. She worked at the garment factory in Farmville for many years.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Lou Altizer and husband, Mickey; a son, Steve Reed and wife, Janet. She also raised four of her eight grandchildren as her own, Wayne Reed, Kathy Reed, Henry Reed, and Jessica Newcomb. Her remaining grandchildren are Mike Altizer, Mindy Altizer Moore, Donna Wilborn, and Dougie Reed; 22 great-grandchildren, Josh, Hunter, Ashleigh, Cody, Pete, Amanda, Steven, Jesse, Emily, Megan, Billy, Courtney, Alaura, Mathew, Nikki, Joseph, Dakota, Dallas, Memphis, Mia, Jacob, and Nikola; three great-great-grandchildren, Skye, Jaidyn, and Addison; a brother, Robert H. Goin; and two sisters, Annie Mae Garrett, and Betty Martin.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Jessie Wayne Reed and Clyde Eugene Reed; and four brothers, Willis N. Goin, Ernest H. Goin, Ottis E. Goin, and Paul E. Goin.

A funeral service will be held 11 am, Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Robinson Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Childress officiating. Burial will follow at Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Robinson Funeral Home.
